If you’ve been going back and forth between Jackery and EcoFlow trying to figure out which one to actually buy, you’re not alone. These are the two brands that come up in basically every conversation about portable power stations and for good reason. Both are excellent. But they’re not the same and the right choice depends on what you actually need.
I’ve used both on road trips through the Rockies, Yellowstone, and the Grand Tetons with a group of friends who’ve been doing this kind of trip together since middle school. Here’s my honest take after real use on both.

Why I Keep Coming Back to Jackery
The Jackery was the first portable power station I ever used that gave us completely consistent results trip after trip. Before we found it we’d tried a couple of cheaper units that would randomly cut out or not perform when we needed them most. The Jackery changed that. Since then it’s never let us down once.
Part of that comes down to build quality. The Jackery feels solid in a way that gives you confidence. The handle is well designed and makes it genuinely easy to move around, which sounds like a small thing until you’re loading and unloading from a truck bed multiple times a day. You grip it, you move it, you set it down. It just works.
The Jackery app is also better than most people realize. You can monitor your power levels, switch between modes, and control the unit from your phone which sounds like a convenience feature until you actually need it. One night I was already in bed in our camper, totally comfortable, and remembered I’d left the unit running in high power mode. I was feeling too lazy to get up so I just opened the Jackery app and switched it over to quiet overnight charging mode right from my phone without moving an inch. That’s the kind of feature that sounds small but sticks with you.
For anyone doing group camping trips, RV travel, or overlanding where reliability is everything, the Jackery is the one I’d point you toward first.
Where EcoFlow Wins
That said, the EcoFlow DELTA 2 does some things better than Jackery and it’s worth being straight about that.
The charging speed on the EcoFlow is genuinely impressive. It goes from zero to 80 percent in about 50 minutes with a standard wall outlet, which means if you’re stopping at a hotel or a campsite with hookups you wake up with a full battery every single morning. The Jackery charges fast too but the EcoFlow has the edge here and if you’re the type who always forgets to plug in before bed it matters more than you’d think.
The EcoFlow also has X-Boost technology which lets it power appliances that draw more wattage than the unit is technically rated for. In practice that means it can run things like hair dryers and certain power tools that other units at the same price point can’t handle. We’ve powered everything from mini fridges to grills to hair dryers with the EcoFlow DELTA 2 and it handled all of it without complaining.

Jackery vs EcoFlow: Head to Head
On reliability and consistency, Jackery wins. It’s the brand that built its reputation on units that just work and keep working for years. The build quality and the track record are hard to argue with.
On charging speed, EcoFlow wins. It’s not even close. If getting back to full power as fast as possible is important to you, the EcoFlow is the better pick.
On app features, it’s basically a tie. Both apps are genuinely useful. The Jackery app is clean and easy to navigate. The EcoFlow app gives you slightly more data and control. Neither is a reason on its own to choose one over the other.
On portability, Jackery edges out EcoFlow at comparable capacity levels. The handle design and the overall form factor make it a little easier to move around in tight spaces like a truck bed or a crowded camper.

Which One Should You Actually Buy
For most people doing car camping, overlanding, or RV trips who want something reliable and easy to use, I’d say start with Jackery. It’s the one I trust, it’s the one I reach for first, and it’s never once given me a reason to regret that decision.
